Willingness and Action Plan

Nikki and Anne Heart ♥  June 10, 2025

The following highlights basic information regarding a technique. More information can be obtained through many informational sites regarding this technique and other techniques to help improve your wellness.

Strengthen your commitment and enhance your success in achieving your goal.

What is a Willingness and Action Plan?

It is a structured approach to achieving a specific goal by focusing on both accepting internal experiences and taking concrete actions aligned with your values.

A detailed breakdown of a Willingness and Action Plan includes:

  1. Goal
  2. Values
  3. Willingness
  4. Actions
Step 1, GOAL:

My personal goal is to (be specific) ________________________________________

Step 2, VALUES:
  • Identify the values that are important to you
  • Will this goal support your values?
Step 3, WILLINGNESS:
  • Determine your willingness to face the barriers or obstacles that you will most likely encounter towards your goal.
  • Are you willing to acknowledge and overcome any thoughts, feelings, sensations or urges that might arise during the action, without judgment or resistance?
  • Willingness to recognize that your internal experiences may be the biggest obstacle to obtaining your goal

The willingness aspect is very crucial to your goal. It encourages acceptance of difficult experiences, rather than trying to avoid them. If you try to avoid obstacles and barriers, it may cause you not to take the necessary actions to achieve your goal.

Step 4, ACTIONS:
  • Outline the specific steps you will take to move towards your goal
  • Breaking down your goal into smaller, more manageable steps with a schedule can help achieve your goal

In summary:

The Willingness and Action Plan assists individuals through practicing acceptance, setting value-based actions, and helping with personal growth.

It encourages you to set realistic goals for yourself. Goals that will align with your values to achieve.

The most valuable tool is to recognize that barriers and obstacles will happen and your willingness to go forward is important to achieving your goal.

Remember a key factor:

  • have confidence in yourself
  • be aware that mistakes and failures will happen to everyone
  • have a plan to handle mishaps when they occur
  • realize who you are and who you can never be
  • learn to take small steps when you can’t take large ones
